It takes 4 hours to prepare the sauce for this lasange, making it rich, served with salad or vegetables and bread

This can be made with chicken if wished, traditional with a twist, served with salad or vegetables and bread.
Spaghettis bolognaise, beef or chicken
The same sauce for the lasagne is used for the beef sauce. chicken sauce can also be made vegetarian, served with salad or vegetables and bread.
Nachos
Dish to share, served with avocado and sour cream.
Hungarian Goulash
Recipe I was given while recently travelling in Hungary, a family recipe that when I tested it was a hit with guests. Served with bread.

Goats cheese soufflés with salad
Goat cheese from a local goat farm make these light souffles.

Roasted salmon with seasonal vegetables
Salmon is local to Canterbury, fresh and excellent roasted with tomatoes, capers and fresh herbs from the garden, this dish is not to be missed while you stay at Gem bed and breakfast.
Meatballs (pork or beef with caramelised onion) with caramelised passata sauce and cauliflower puree and pesto
My children have always loved my meatballs, taste of traditional NZ fare.
Beef or chicken pies with seasonal vegetables
The beef filling takes 2 hours to cook which I make the day before. Rich and hearty pies. Served with vegetables.
Crumbed fish fried with salad and roasted potatoes
Market fish crumbed in panko crums, almond meal and parmesan, served with garden fresh salad and my famous roasted potatoes, everyone who eats them asks how I prepare them!

Traditional NZ dessert served with cream and seasonal fruit.

Crepes by request the night before with and maple syrup or lemon and sugar.
2 and 3 course dinners will always be a set menu and choices made a minimum of 36 hours in advance. The first guest to choose their meal is the set menu for the night.
All meals are made with freshly bought produce. Please choose your meals before booking dinner. Please email your dinner choice to me well in advance of your stay so I purchase ingredients on my routine trips to the market.
